I've come to realize that my mind has become my default navigation system, leading me through life's complexities. This analytical approach allows me to dissect situations, draw logical conclusions, and make decisions based on reason. While this approach offers a sense of control and comfort, it also limits my ability to fully engage with the world around me.

My upbringing, shaped by parents who survived war and hardships, instilled in me a deep appreciation for practicality and efficiency. Feelings were often seen as a distraction, an unnecessary indulgence in a world that demanded resilience. This mindset inadvertently shaped my early development, steering me towards a life guided by logic rather than intuition.

However, as I delve deeper into the tapestry of life, I've come to recognize the importance of embracing my emotions. Understanding and utilizing my feelings can serve as a valuable compass, guiding me towards a richer, more fulfilling existence. Phrases like "follow your heart" or "trust your gut" suddenly resonate with newfound clarity.

Self-expression, I've learned, is deeply rooted in self-understanding. Without that understanding, our expression becomes a mere echo of external influences, a distorted reflection of our true selves. Embarking on this journey of self-discovery is the next crucial step in my evolution.

11/23/2023 - "I Feel" My Muscles - Louis

At the gym, I found myself struggling to connect with my muscles during a workout. My mind was busy visualizing muscle fibers and envisioning body movements, yet I couldn't feel the contractions. Turning to my friend Louis, I asked if he also visualized his body in this way. His response was simple yet profound: he said, " I feel my muscles contracting."

Encouraged by his advice, I closed my eyes and focused inward, letting go of mental visualizations and surrendering to the sensations of my body. The moment I lifted the weights, a surge of awareness washed over me. I could feel the muscles engage, the fibers contracting in perfect harmony.

This experience sparked a deeper reflection on my approach to life. I realized that I spent a significant portion of my time analyzing and dissecting my surroundings, rarely taking the time to truly experience the present moment. My mind was constantly drawing conclusions, interpreting actions, and anticipating outcomes. This constant state of vigilance left me feeling drained and exhausted.

Today has brought me to embark on a journey inward, seeking to explore the depths of my being.
