The Unique Melody of Our Existence

A guitar made from oak wood and another made from spruce wood will produce distinctly different sounds, even if crafted with the exact same methods and measurements. The components used to craft each guitar resonate uniquely, influencing the vibrations of the strings. Now, consider how unique each human being is. Even the simple act of saying "hello" varies from person to person. One person's "hello" might convey sweetness, while another's might carry hostility.

The Exponential Ancestry

How unique are we you might wonder? Let’s delve into our ancestry for a second,

- I have 2 parents.

- They each had 2 parents, making 4 grandparents.

- Each of my grandparents had 2 parents, making 8 great-grandparents.

- Each of my great-grandparents had 2 parents, making 16 great-great-grandparents.

This pattern continues, doubling with each generation:

- 32 ancestors in the fifth generation

- 64 ancestors in the sixth generation

- 128 ancestors in the seventh generation

- 256 ancestors in the eighth generation

- 512 ancestors in the ninth generation

- 1,024 ancestors in the tenth generation

- 2,048 ancestors in the eleventh generation

- 4,096 ancestors in the twelfth generation

- 8,192 ancestors in the thirteenth generation

- 16,384 ancestors in the fourteenth generation

- 32,768 ancestors in the fifteenth generation

- 65,536 ancestors in the sixteenth generation

- 131,072 ancestors in the seventeenth generation

- 262,144 ancestors in the eighteenth generation

- 524,288 ancestors in the nineteenth generation

- 1,048,576 ancestors in the twentieth generation

Considering a generation spans approximately 25 years, this pattern takes us back 20 generations, or about 500 years. In that time span, I would have had 1,048,576 ancestors in the 20th generation alone.

The Vastness of Human History

That’s just 500 years. When we consider that humans date back roughly 7 million years, the theoretical number of ancestors becomes astronomical: 1,099,511,627,775 (one trillion, ninety-nine billion, five hundred eleven million, six hundred twenty-seven thousand, seven hundred seventy-five).

The path to our existence is fraught with improbabilities. One small mistake along the way, and I might not have been born. Think of the myriad dangers our ancestors faced—starvation, war, disease, suffering. The fact that we are here, each of us a unique blend of evolutionary success, is nothing short of miraculous.

Discovering Our Unique Abilities

So, how does one uncover their unique abilities and aspects? The good news is, it’s already within us. Our DNA and our composition hold all the information we need. Like a cow that grazes, a wolf that hunts, or an eagle that soars, our unique abilities are instinctual. A cow doesn’t train to graze, nor does a wolf need lessons to hunt. These instincts are natural, residing within them.

Similarly, an artist doesn't typically desire to become a space engineer unless driven by interest or necessity. We naturally gravitate towards activities we enjoy and excel in. I love learning about nature and philosophy, and no one has to pay me to pursue these interests. Conversely, I have no desire to learn about or perform heart surgeries, but for some, that’s their passion.

Trusting the Inner Compass

Our inner compass guides us. It’s crucial to trust our intuition and follow our natural inclinations. Often, suffering arises when we stray from our true path. A fish is content swimming; it suffers when it tries to walk on land. An eagle is skilled at hunting from the sky; it falters if it listens to wolves and tries to hunt on the ground.

Guidance to discovery

If you desire you to learn about your self, like learning about anything, it requires curiosity, asking questions and open to receive answers.

To visually and physically be engaged with the process, write it down on a piece of paper, and attempt to answer the following questions as a guide and see what answers comes up or what other questions you begin to ponder upon.’

A cow has always and will always graze grass if the possibility is there. It is only when it is forced to be fed upon grain due to captivity will it diet change.

1 - What are the elements that you’re mostly drawn towards?

For instance, I’ve always been sensitive to sounds, voices, and audio. Whenever I come across these elements it’s like a magnet. I wouldn’t think twice about spending money on audio equipments. The same goes with health, food, and new unique ingredient that could promote health. But, when it comes to other things, i would have to think twice or trice about them. I’d do calculations back n forth to weight whether it is worth buying or not.

This is a big giveaway of what you’re mostly in tune with.

2 - What compliments have you gotten passively throughout your life?

For instance, growing up people have always said I have a soft voice, good voice, and calming. I never quite understood these compliments as I dont know what they meant by that nor what my voice provokes within them. But, it did something enough for them to voice it out. I didn’t think any further about these compliments, until recently where I decided to embrace this aspect and explore it further. I quickly realized, I’ve been doing recordings on my phone for years, I did small recordings of my thoughts, philosophical realizations and just random ideas. So I decided to take it a step further and convert it all into a podcast form, and the journey continues.

What other people see is often times hard for ourselves to “see” since the knife cannot cut it self, nor can the flame burn it self. So given that there’s knowledge and wisdom that’s reflective of ourselves in the eyes of others holds quite the value.

3 - What are you known for? What kind of remarks are commonly addressed?

For instance, I have a friend in named Louis, whenever im with him, be provokes a sense of a brother. Everything he does falls into the category of family, and hard work. He always works out and his physique speaks for it self. Every time im with him, it’s either, workout, hangout, and spend time together. Just by him doing what he does, he managed to influence me to workout on a daily basis. He didn’t force me nor motivate me in any shape or form. He’s just who he is, and what comes after occurs naturally.

Just from a bee being a bee, it has a tremendous effect on the natural world. The bees plays a crucial role by pollinating plants, fruits, and flowers by just being who they are. They dont have to pretend to be anything but themselves, and everything else has a natural ripple effect. Similar to my friend Louis, he has his own values, image, and just by being him, were able to influence me.

In such light, if you dont know what you’re known for or what people have said the influence you’ve had on them. Then, what would you want to be known for? Why is this, and if it serves the greater you’re getting closer to a real answer, and if it only serves you then it’s mostly an answer by the ego.

In conclusion, trust your gut and your inner compass. You’re likely already engaging in what you love, or you need to do it more or in a way that suits you better. Embrace your unique path and let your natural abilities shine.

Until next time, be well!
